Xournal can do some of the things you want, but it is not a true PDF editor.Ī "free" (as in beer) version of Master PDF Editor is available for Linux, but you need to pay if you want to use the features you need. I seriously doubt you will ever see a full-featured FOSS PDF editor. Summing up: I need something like Master PDF Editor, with all its tools, but it must be free, too. Master PDF Editor is simple perfect, everything considering, but the last (complete) free version is stopped to 4.3.89 release. On the other hand, if I try to use Libre Office Draw I loose the format of my pdf: the text goes out of the border of the page, no more alignment, parts of the text overlap and more.įor other reasons (complicated to explain not in my native language) I discarded Scribus and Xournal++. Okular can do some of those needs, but it's not so easy, for example, to change the font on annotation or to to draw a perfect rectangle around an annotation, too. So sorry to resume this discussion, but I have something to add (unfortunately).įirst of all: my needs are to highlight/underline part of the text and - most of all - comment, I mean to annotate, to fill in the blanks, to draw (for example) rectangle and, if it necessary, to change the font of my annotation, too.
